Lacamas Creek Post Acute Care Center is in Camas WA. It is a nursing care center you can go to to recover from medical events that can happen to any one at any time all of a sudden without any warning. You have been here for almost 7 months. I have a nice room with 1 roommate, which I get along with. We have become friends, & Iam blessed to have her for a roommate. In any place you can go to you will find the that the nurses & CNA’s can be awesome & so helpful or someone who you don’t get along with. But for what ever the reason you end up at this center you will be accepted, helped, & asked to try to get help if you need help, talk to doctors & PA’s about what you need to work on, & councilors when things & life gets so overwhelming. They accept Medicare & Medicaid insurances. I already got my eyes examined by a eye doctor that came to the center to see me. I had to pay only $20.00 for my eye glass tint. The lenses, frame, eye exam & tests were all included. I love my new glasses & I think I look beautiful in them. It is nice to be able to see so much better & to be able to read a lot better. We have flat screened TV’s hanging around the wall mounted very safely. We have head phones to listen to TV at night if we can’t sleep well. We can call a nurse or can if we need help or to be cleaned up. I try to get my showers 2 times a week. They also have a gym you can go to for exercises. My favorite machine is a SiFit company that has a awesome exercise machine called the “New Step.” It is a low impact excise machine that combines a row boat & bicycle in one exercising machine. You can be a total beginner & in poor shape starting out. You can start on this machine at level 1. You can work out for starting out at 5 minutes length of time. Then you can go up to 10 minutes at a time. And work your way up to 15 minutes at a time. You are working on burning calories & also working on how many steps you can do. You slowly build up your strength & endurance. It is so easy to do & not too hard to start out with. You can decide or choose to work out 2-3 times a week (like a Mon., Wed., & Fri.) to excise regularly. It is not to hard to do, & it helps you to be able to get stronger without hurting your self. I have been trying to work out for 6 months now. Some days are easier & some days are a struggle just to try. But you don’t have to be discourged because if I can do it so can you make it. Over all, I would say that there are a lot worse places to go to but they try to make it more bearable while you are trying to get back on your feet. You can have visits from your husband, or grown up sons & daughters, or your granddaughters or grandsons. You can even have your pets (like dogs & cats) visit you after you can show proof of shots & examination reports. Every Tues. you can get your nails done if I want to look & feel beautiful. They even have counseling services & counselors available to get help with depression if you have struggles with being so deeply sad. They have counselors to help you with any struggles you are having making it hard to cope with your fears & anxieties. They also try to help you with pain management & problems that can flair up off & on. They help with any of your scheduling medical & doctors appointments. And they help arrange rides to & from your appointments you have to get to. They have even transportation for wheel chair patients to & from their appointment, as well as, take you up to the check in desk for your appointment. They give you a card to call them when you are finished with your appointment & ready for you to go back to the center where you are staying at. Some drivers will pick you up at the front desk, & some drivers offer to take you back to your room. Or a nurse or cna will take you back to your room & help you get back in bed, & help you change from your clothes & coat back into your medical gown, along with helping you get back in bed to rest or take a Nap if you are very tired. You sign up go to a group for arts, or color pictures with coloring pencils, or play board games every week.
